About the Journal

Grassroots is an online journal published by the Journal and Publication Division of Asosiasi Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris (APSPBI) / ELESPA. Peer-reviewed journal published twice a year, namely in January and July.

"Grassroots: Community Engagement and Development" stands as an international journal, bridging diverse perspectives and experiences from communities across the globe. It serves as a vital platform for researchers, practitioners, and community leaders to share their insights on grassroots initiatives, fostering a global dialogue on community-driven change. Recognizing that the challenges faced by local communities are often interconnected and transcend national borders, the journal facilitates the exchange of best practices, innovative strategies, and lessons learned from various contexts. Notably, this journal has a specific focus on servicing communities with English learning and teaching programs, recognizing the crucial role language skills play in empowering individuals and facilitating global communication within grassroots movements.

The journal's potential impact extends far beyond academic circles, offering valuable resources for the global community engaged in development work. Its content is relevant to a wide range of stakeholders, including non-governmental organizations, policymakers, and community-based organizations. By showcasing successful grassroots models, including those focused on English language education, and highlighting the power of community engagement, "Grassroots" empowers individuals and organizations worldwide to adopt and adapt effective strategies for their own contexts. The journal's commitment to disseminating knowledge and fostering collaboration makes it an essential tool for those striving to create a more equitable and sustainable future through community-led development. By addressing the use of technology by grassroots organizations, and specifically in relation to English learning and teaching programs, the journal helps to bridge the digital divide and spread information to a larger audience, thereby enhancing the reach and effectiveness of these vital community initiatives.
