  • Biography: Prof. Dr. Abdul Mu'ti, M.Ed. is a highly respected academic, religious leader, and the current Minister of Primary and Secondary Education of the Republic of Indonesia. He holds a Master of Education (M.Ed.) from Flinders University, Australia, and a Doctoral from UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, where he also serves as a Professor of Islamic Education. Beyond his governmental and academic roles, he is widely recognized for his prominent leadership as the General Secretary of the Central Board of Muhammadiyah, one of Indonesia's largest socio-religious and educational organizations.

  • Biography: Dr. Angela Farrell is a prominent academic serving as the Assistant Dean International for the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (AHSS) and a Lecturer in TESOL and Applied Linguistics at the University of Limerick, Ireland. She also serves as the Course Director for the International Structured PhD program in AHSS.

Prof. Ahmed Bashir, M.A. TESOL| Keynote Speaker

Professor, Department of English, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh | President of BELTA

  • Biography: Prof. Ahmed Bashir is a distinguished academic and Full Professor in the Department of English at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He holds an M.A. in Applied Linguistics and ELT from the University of Dhaka, as well as a second M.A. in TESOL from the University of Nottingham (Malaysia Campus). In addition to his academic role, he serves as the General Secretary of the Bangladesh English Language Teachers Association (BELTA), playing a pivotal role in advancing English language education in the region.

Prof. Bashir’s extensive research expertise is highly relevant to the evolving landscape of modern education. His core interests include learner autonomy, language teaching strategies, educational technology, 21st-century skills, translanguaging, and humanistic approaches in ESL/EFL methodologies. He has published widely in high-impact international journals (such as TESL-EJ, Asia TEFL, and Indonesian Journal of Applied Linguistics) and serves on the editorial/reviewer boards of several prestigious publications, including Springer Nature journals. Recently, he co-edited the prominent book "Local Research and Glocal Perspectives in English Language Teaching: Teaching in Changing Times" (Springer Nature, 2023).

  • Biography: Dr. Esther Tong is a passionate teacher-scholar and educational leader serving as the Head of the Division of Languages and Communication, and the Director of the CPCE Centre for Pedagogic Research at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She holds a B.A. in TESL with first-class honors, an M.A. in Literacy Education and a Diploma in Education (TESL) from The University of British Columbia, and a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in English Language Education from The University of Hong Kong.

With a sustained commitment to teaching excellence, Dr. Tong has received multiple prestigious accolades, including the CPCE Dean’s Award for Outstanding Teaching Performance.   • Biography: Prof. Sandra Mari Kaneko-Marques is a highly regarded academic and Associate Professor of English in the Department of Modern Languages at the Faculty of Sciences and Letters, São Paulo State University (UNESP), Brazil. She holds a Ph.D. in Linguistic Studies from UNESP, an M.A. in Linguistics, and a B.A. in English Language and Literature.
